Gambling Man video

I can't help it. I like the song a lot, so here's the band singing it...

A nice little average beginner line dance, the Blue Night Cha (WEB).

NC Regional Line Dance Review, April 30

The NC Regional Line Dance Workshop held Saturday, April 30 in Dover at Wyse Fork Community Building, hosted by Diane Hargett, was great fun. We had a nice crowd who brought wonderful food and a lot of merriment to the workshop. Six new dances were taught during the day.

BC Beach from New Bern started off with a beginner novelty dance called She Wu by Rep Ghazali, a 32 count 4 wall dance with a few easy arm movements and tags danced to the music She Wu by Jay Chou feat. Lara.

Renita Vega from Fayetteville did quite a good job of teaching Soul Food by Lorenza "goLo" Evans, a 72 count 1 wall phrased dance danced to Collard Greens and Cornbread by Fantasia. The counts on this dance are very different with the whole counts being on the heavy beat of the music. It is meant to be danced as the instrumental notes hit rather than the beats counted so, even though not too hard of a dance, it takes some practice to make your feet hit those beats.

Three dances taught during the day were all choreographed by Rachael McEnaney, obviously one of our favorite choreographers.

Brenda Smith from Roxboro taught Let It Be by Rachael, a 32 count 2 wall advanced nightclub 2 dance with no tags or restarts danced to Let It Be by Katie Stevens. Even though it is classified as advanced, I would say it is more on the Intermediate side and is a beautifully choreographed dance by Rachel.

Diane Hargett from Dover taught Raise Your Glass by Rachael, a 64 count 2 wall high intermediate dance with 2 restarts and a shake tag danced to the music Raise Your Glass by Pink, here again another well choreographed dance by Rachael.

Susan Webb from Stantonsburg taught I'm No Good by Rachael, a 64 count 2 wall intermediate dance with 1 easy tag done 3 times danced to the music I'm No Good by Laura Bell Bundy. Several of the steps in this dance are mirrored so the dance really is on the easier Intermediate side.

Bonnie Mathews taught 1-2-3-4 by Niels Poulsen, a 64 count 2 wall straight count beginner improver dance with easy tags danced to the music 1-2-3 by Ann Tayler.

On Friday night at class, Bonnie also taught us Talkin To The Moon by Joey Warren, a 32 count 4 wall nightclub 2 dance with 2 restarts and a tag danced to beautiful music, Talking To The Moon by Bruno Mars.
